In the world of Software Development, Refactoring can be an integral part of improving code readability, increasing maintainability and generally make everything tidier and easier to work with. Refaktor IT exists to do the same to the recruitment process.
The industry is full of recruitment companies where consultants have high and often unrealistic targets. These targets often lead to one thing ...desperation.
Here’s what desperation causes:
In short, barriers are put up that waste everyone’s time.
The mission at Refaktor IT is to genuinely add value and quality to Tech teams and the hiring process.
Whether it's a two-man start-up, or a large multi-national. The risk/cost of a bad hire has never been higher, it's best to get it right first time.
We’re not software developers and will never claim to be. But what we can say is that in the six years we’ve worked in the industry we have learnt something new from every single candidate and client. Our knowledge of Software Development allows us to truly understand client requirements in order to deliver high quality; it also allows us to properly appreciate candidates’ career aspirations from a technical perspective.
We know the only thing Java about JavaScript is the name; Big Data is more than just anywhere you see the word “Hadoop” and IoT is more than changing your living room lights from your smartphone.
We even know the joke about three DBAs walking into a NoSQL bar and leaving because they can’t find a table.
Plenty of recruiters will claim to know every market for every client they have ever spoken to. That doesn’t make sense to us. We’ve spent our whole careers developing networks in Oslo, Helsinki, Berlin and Stockholm. We know the areas, we know the most exciting companies and we know the most talented people. It saves a lot of time when you already have a candidate in mind when a requirement comes in!
References from both clients and candidates we have worked with are available on request.
We only work with a limited number of clients at any one time. True collaboration with every client is paramount for a successful process. Many agency recruiters are targeted with having ten, fifteen or even twenty clients at any one time. It’s impossible to have a successful recruitment process based on this approach; it’s just not possible to dedicate the necessary time and resources.
In the case of clients, sometimes less is more.
let's talk
Paul started out as a Trainee consultant back in November 2010. During his career he has worked with companies across Europe. But it is Scandinavia in particular where he has built and maintained the best relationships. Helsinki and Oslo being the two cities he is most actively involved in. Unfortunately for him, Paul will never be a Software Engineer. However, he is very interested in technology and has learnt a lot from many of the candidates he has worked with over the years, allowing him to understand requirements in detail.
His interests away from Technology recruitment include Travelling, Football, Rugby, Video games and Music. It’s probably best to contact someone else in Refaktor if you happen to be a fan of Manchester United!
Chris began his career in December 2011, he was a trainee working as part of Paul’s team. From a very early stage Chris was successful in a number of markets, but it was first Stockholm and then Oslo where he developed his best networks.
Over the years Chris has been responsible for helping to build entire development teams for some of Stockholm and Oslo’s most exciting young companies.
Chris is interested in a wide variety of subjects when it comes to technology. Most recently it’s the IoT sector that has really taken his focus. He is also studying Aeronautics and Aerospace Engineering in his spare time.
Outside of recruitment, Chris is a keen Swimmer and has competed at national level. He also enjoys learning about other cultures, a range of music and spending time with his family. Some say he is the nicest guy ever to set foot in the recruitment industry.
Adam began his Recruitment career in September 2010 as a Trainee Consultant with his early experience being focused across the DACH and Scandinavia regions. He then limited his focus for a higher quality service and better relationships, and now focuses his efforts purely in the Berlin tech market.
He has vast experience in not only delivering a great service for candidates and clients alike but also training and managing divisions of other recruiters. He has a thirst for knowledge and a great interest in technology. When he isn’t thinking about Technical Recruitment, Adam has a passion for History, Football, Fishing, Music, Cooking, Gardening and growing vegetables. He’s also a huge TV and Film buff with an interest in programs like Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad, Narcos, Vikings and many more.
Marketing and advertising is great, especially in this digital age. However, we feel the most important and valuable method of advertising is good old-fashioned word of mouth. Let’s face it; you trust the opinion of people you know a lot more than any flash advert.
That’s why candidate experience is key. Candidate experience isn’t just negotiating offers, or briefing for an interview. Candidate experience starts as soon as initial contact is made and, for us, doesn’t really end. We’re proud of the number of candidates we have worked with that have then become clients, referees, and trusted contacts in the industry. We also realise that some recruiters out there haven’t exactly given the industry a great reputation. We want to change people’s opinions, one step at a time. It’ll be a long process, but we’re up for the challenge and think we can prove people wrong.
Here’s what you can expect as a candidate from us: Honesty, Integrity, Transparency, Knowledge, Advice, A Plan, and Commitment.
But let’s face it; any company can list these words on their website. We feel our references speak for themselves.
Over the years, we’ve learnt thing or two from our clients. Not just what we do right. But, more importantly, what we did wrong and how we could change for the better. A true recruitment partner should be able to work seamlessly with a company’s existing process. Or have the expertise and confidence to convince a client to change the process and show why it should be changed.
Over our careers we’ve worked with clients across Europe. From the UK, through Germany and Switzerland and into Scandinavia, we have been lucky to meet some great people and help grow some fantastic development teams. Each country has its own culture and best practice. No place is the same.
These experiences allow us to suggest new methods and ideas and help save money, and more importantly time.
As our client, you’ll get a tailor-made service, whether it’s a one-off placement or a plan to build a whole new team. Remember, we will be the first impression that your potential new employee will get of your company, our goal is to communicate your culture as if they were speaking to the CEO! Remember, culture is definitely King.
We want to Refaktor your recruitment process, improving its process and structure whilst allowing you to continue chasing your overall business goals.
